Superfoods for Conquering the Pain of Arthritis

December 17th, 2009  |  Published in Sexual Health

With some thought and planning, it’s easy to make these nutrient-dense foods part of your daily diet. With choices from virtually every food group, you’ll soon be well on your way to arming yourself to battle the pain of arthritis and begin to manage it from the inside out.

Salmon is among the richest sources of healthy fats, making it an ideal source of omega-3 fatty acids. In addition, salmon contains calcium, vitamin D, and folate. Besides helping with arthritis, eating salmon may protect the cardiovascular system by preventing blood clots, repairing artery damage, raising levels of good cholesterol, and lowering blood pressure.

Commonly referred to as one of nature’s ‘perfect foods,’ bananas are perhaps best known for packing potassium, but they’re also good sources of arthritis-fighting vitamin B6, folate, and vitamin C. They’re easy for your body to digest, and since they’re a great source of soluble fiber, they are an important player in your weight loss efforts, because you fell full after eating one without consuming a large number of calories.

If you are in need of vitamin C but aren’t a big fan of citrus fruits, reach for a green pepper. A single green pepper contains 176 percent of your daily needs for vitamin C — and colorful red and yellow varieties have more than double that amount. That makes them richer in C than citrus fruits, but sweet peppers are also excellent sources of vitamin B6 and folate.

Vitamin D is a tough one to come by in foods, but shrimp fills that bill, since they have about 30 percent of the daily recommended amount in about three ounces – much more than a cup of milk. Shrimp also contains omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin C, along with other nutrients essential for general health, including iron and vitamin B12.

Hard or soft, fresh or ripened, cheese in all its variety is an excellent source of calcium for bones, and protein for muscles and other joint-supporting tissues. Cheese can be easily sliced to put on a cracker or a sandwich, grated into your favorite recipe, or eaten alongside an apple or pear for a fresh, quick snack.

Green tea contains hundreds of powerful antioxidant chemicals called polyphenols and has been cited for helping prevent problems ranging from cancer to heart disease. But studies also suggest green tea may help prevent or ease symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis

Hyperbaric, Ozone, and H202 Therapies. Which One Is Best?

December 17th, 2009  |  Published in Sexual Health

There are several types of oxygen therapy.

The one you hear the most about is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. The reason for this is because it is so expensive and insurance companies usually pay the $2000.00 per session that it costs.

Another less expensive is Ozone Therapy. Ozone Therapy is also rather expensive and it involves using ozone as a douche and enema. This is called sulfulation. The machine necessary for these procedures can costs from $800.00 to $1200.00. It is time consuming, as it Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, but not as costly

And what is known as The Common Man’s Oxygen Therapy is using a simple H202 solution and water twice a day.

Dosages differ and you should purchase the usage manual when you decide to use H202 Oxygen Therapy.

H202 is also called hydrogen peroxide and the type you want to use IS NOT the common 3% variety you can purchase in any drugstore. You MUST use 35% Food Grade H202 because the common 3% type has stabilizers and preservatives that can accumulate in your body and cause serious medical problems later.

H202 Oxygen Therapy is cheap, usually costing about five cents a day and can be self-administered in the privacy of your own home.

I have been using The Oxygen Therapy Program for a year now and I can testify to how well it works to kill viruses, bacteria, worms, protozoa, and fungi inside your body.

Some interesting side notes are that while on the H202 Oxygen Therapy Program you CAN NOT:

1. Get a hangover.
2. Catch a cold or the flu (of any type)

But the long-term health benefits are much, much greater than just those two things.

AIDS, Herpes, HIV, Diabetes, Arthritis, Cancer, Swine Flu, GERD, Crohn’s Disease… if you are plagued by any of these diseases or conditions, you can bring your body
back into optimum health and allow it to rid itself of these health-scavengers. Only
the body can kill viruses and diseases that invade it and Oxygen Therapy will strengthen your body and your immune system so that it can remember how to kill these invaders!

Cholesterol And Diet

December 17th, 2009  |  Published in Sexual Health

Cholesterol balance in our body is affected by many factors. Age is one such factor, and we cannot control age. But exercise and diet are factors that are inside our scope of control. Even older people can manage to handle exercise and diet. We will take a closer look at the connection between cholesterol and diet. Eating a low cholesterol diet is the best way to promote longevity, keep your arteries flowing and your heart ticking into old age. Figuring out the best foods to eat, however, is easier said than done. If you have been accustomed to eating whatever you please, suddenly needing to navigate your way through dietary information can feel like quite a chore.

When cooking, replace butter with olive oil, canola oil or peanut oil. In many baking recipes, you can use applesauce instead of butter, believe it or not! Dieticians recommend eating no more than 5 ounces of meat per day, substituting ½ cup of beans to get your protein and eating no more than 2 egg yolks per week. The circulating fat in the bloodstream is also known as the serum triglyceride level, and it also is a way to measure it. High blood pressure, diabetes, low HDL cholesterol levels and being overweight are just some risk factors that may occur in people with elevated triglyceride levels.

Foods high in fiber have the added benefit of helping to absorb and eliminate cholesterol from the intestines. Fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes and nuts are all high in fiber. Some fruits, such as citrus, apples, cranberries and blackberries are high in pectin, and are particularly good at reducing cholesterol levels. Unsaturated fats are the fats you are free to enjoy. These will actually lower your cholesterol and decrease your chances of getting heart disease. When you are looking at a dietary label, you will see these listed as either monounsaturated or polyunsaturated fats. Either way, they are a safe fat to consume. Sesame, soybean and corn oil are all common unsaturated fats.

Using garlic as a flavoring, particularly when used instead of salt, is one of the best measures to take to maintain a healthy cholesterol diet. Using vegetable and olive oils when cooking is another small change to make. Lower consumption of foods high in saturated fat can be easily accommodated by reading labels and choosing healthier brands. Everyday more heart healthy alternatives are sitting in the potato chip and cracker aisle at your local grocery store. Another quick fix is to replace butter and margarine with one of the new heart healthy spreads. Healthy diets are considered effective to lower cholesterol. A low cholesterol diet contains extremely low or no cholesterol at all. Diets of plant origin are the best low cholesterol diets.

Symptoms of high cholesterol can be, fatigue, depression and other emotional conditions. A good suggestion when starting a low cholesterol diet would be to avoid fatty, unhealthy foods, like french fries, and other fast foods that are high in cholesterol. Junk food is never good, so when you are trying to stay on a low cholesterol diet, try to avoid these types of foods at all costs. Meanwhile, foods that are high in cholesterol and saturated fats should only be eaten in moderation. If possible, these should not be included in your diet. Avoid liver and other organ meats, egg yolks, full-fat dairy products, high-fat processed meats, and fried foods.

Methods to Reduce Weight

December 17th, 2009  |  Published in Sexual Health

Reduce body fat with the correct combination of a healthy well balanced diet and moderate exercise. Losing weight is not that difficult, but it does need some self discipline and will power. To reduce body fat you will have to take action and make positive lifestyle changes.

Maintaining balance between healthy eating and regular exercise has always proven to be the most effective way to lose body fat. This doesn’t suggest that you will suddenly have to starve yourself or go over top with an exhaustive exercise regime. You merely need to reduce the consumption of the known fatty foods and those foods high in sugar.

People who try to lose fat with diets are failed before they even begin, because once you go on a diet then at some point you have to come off the diet, and when you do, then all the weight you lost comes back again. Exercising regularly and eating the right amount of food, may seem impossible but once this becomes a habit, then it is easy like brushing your teeth.

There are various methods to reduce body fat percentage. It is always advisable to lose weight healthily by taking up natural methods such as cardio workouts and balanced diet. Body fat percentage usually varies from person to person. Obesity is caused due to excess fats in the body.

Water is the most important nutrient in your body.Water does not contain any calories and it is absolutely required to lose fat and to survive. However if you are dehydrated your body has the reaction to hold onto whatever water it needs to keep you alive.

Take some time to evaluate your current diet and eating habits. Are you eating just one or two large meals each day, or are you doing the right thing by eating five to six smaller meals spread throughout the day. Are you doing enough to reduce the fat from your diet? Avoid eating fatty foods, especially foods high in saturated fats – after all, eating fat makes you fat.

Make sure that the meals you eat contain lots of protein, vitamins and essential fats and your body will do its job to reduce body fat. Protein in your meals makes the body release Glucagon which raises low blood sugar. This is accomplished by converting protein and fat into glucose. The benefits of a high protein diet include decreasing cholesterol production, making kidneys release excess fluid and reduce body fat by using it to fulfill its own energy requirements.

Doing weight training or strength exercises is an important part of the weight loss process. The key is to increase muscle tissue in order to reduce more body fat fast. The reason is that muscle tissue burns more calories just to sustain itself. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn. You don’t need to be a bodybuilder for this to work. Even a small increase in muscle tone which is attractive for men and women both, will provide better results.

Do not ignore the signs of prostate cancer

December 17th, 2009  |  Published in Sexual Health

Prostate cancer is now attacking men from the early age of thirties.

Men who are over the age of fifty need to keep a close check on their natural health.

Once prostate cancer is identified then it could be ‘localised.’ Localised means where a person is able to receive treatment for his prostate as it means the cancer has not spread to other areas of the body.

If a person ignores the signs of their body telling them their natural health is being invaded there is more chance the prostate cancer will be left to spread to other areas of the body. This cancer is called ‘Metastases‘.

At Natural Cures, we have a selection of recipes and details of natural medicine that can help a person restore a person biochemical imbalance of a person who is suffering from prostate cancer.

Natural health is important for everyone and prostate cancer is one of the dangers that affect the body without any mercy.

Some of the symptoms to watch out for are extreme pain in the genital area, blood in a person’s urine, pains in the lower back or prostate.

Another thing to watch for is when you are eating your meals and your weight is dropping off you. Going to the bathroom to urinate and nothing is happening is also a sign.

Doctor are worried that a large percentage of men know they are experiencing pain and totally ignore the symptoms hoping they will go away, until it is too late.

Doctors will recommend a person to undergo treatment for prostate cancer with radiation, chemotherapy or in extreme cases a removal of the prostate gland.  Their advice should not be ignored!

A person can hope for assistance from a natural cure or alternative therapy, but these choices in natural medicine should not replace conventional medicine. Herbal remedies should be taken after consulting with your doctor and should be combined with the conventional cancer treatment as appropriate.

Self Healing Massage Techniques For Instant Stress Relief!

December 17th, 2009  |  Published in Sexual Health

As a massage therapist I can say without doubt that rubbing of the neck gives very fast relief from pain and stress. The neck is the junction between the brain and body. Stress seems to affect the muscles of this area more than any other place. Ever notice how tight your neck gets especially when sitting, standing, or if you’ve been stressed? When you use the healing power of your own touch you reverse the downward cycle of pain – first physically, then mentally. All things are connected – mental, physical, spiritual and emotional. They all play off each other.

First put on some nice, soothing music. Then pour a tablespoon full of coconut oil or safflower oil (I always prefer natural lubricants vs. synthetic, petroleum based creams) into a bowl and find a relaxing place to sit or lay. If you want you may add essential oils like lavender, rosemary, or lemongrass. Another great option to oil would be a product from the coop called Arnica salve. Arnica is a muscle relaxing herb used for external purposes only. Internally, I use mind calming, nerve melting herbs like skullcap, valerian or hops that really help with stress. (I prefer natural remedies over artificial medicines). Dip your fingers into the oil and rub some of it on your neck. Work it in until you’ve got the perfect “slide” and consistency. Feel is a big key here. Find the tight bands of muscle in the front, sides and back of the neck. Rub the bands lengthwise, circularly and crosswise. Be careful not to pinch off the carotid artery which is located just to the right of the Adams apple in that “groove”. Cup your hand on the back of the neck and squeeze, pull, and rub. While you’re rubbing, roll the head around, stretching and working the muscles it at the same time. Be careful but thorough. Breathe! The breath is the spirit of life. Think positive thoughts and relax. Rub your neck and shoulder muscles for at least 15 minutes.

Now rub your ears, hands and feet. These are the reflex hot spots on the body. Rub these areas and feel for sore points. Also feel for tight bands and knots. These are indicators of places that need attention. It’s that simple. Rubbing the ears is called auricular acupressure. Rubbing the hands and feet is called reflexology. You can stimulate your ears, hands and feet everyday on your own! Just rub them! When you do your own healing, you take the bull by the horns and create your own good health!

Beneficial Herbal Remedies That You Might Already Have at Home

December 17th, 2009  |  Published in Sexual Health

Herbal remedies have been used for centuries in countries all across the globe. Many natural cures have proven their effectiveness in alleviating some of the most common and serious diseases that plague our society from then till now. And like common practice, many homeowners like to stock up on spices and other herbs that they may not know can be tremendously useful in curing common household illnesses. Here are some of the most common herbal medicines that may be stored in your spice rack or kitchen cabinet right now.

Peppermint

More than just your go-to baking ingredient, peppermint is also one of the most effective herbal remedies for irritable bowel syndrome and cold sores. If you still don’t have some in your home, buy some peppermint oil for a handy remedy for abdominal pain and bloating caused by irritable bowel syndrome. When it comes to cold sores, peppermint oil has also been found to have a great effect in battling the herpes simplex virus.

Green Tea

Another one of the most popular herbal remedies is green tea. It has been known to be rich in antioxidants. But when drank regularly, green tea can help promote healthier gums and teeth. And if you need extra productivity, you’re in luck because green tea is also known to provide additional brain power. In fact, studies show that green tea can preserve the brain as we age, therefore lessening the risk of suffering from cognitive conditions.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is probably one of the oldest spices. The bark of the cinnamon tree is the most widely-used part of the plant due to its exemplary culinary benefits. But the advantages of cinnamon greatly extend to medicinal purposes.

Two of the most popular variants of the plant are Cassia and Ceylon. Cassia cinnamon is effective against nausea, colds, painful menstruation and diarrhea. Aside from that, this type of cinnamon is also found to have great effect in energy and circulation.

Ginger

Another one of the most effective and well-known herbal remedies in ginger. If you’re fond of Asian cooking, then you would probably already have this in your home. In addition to be being a great cooking ingredient, ginger is also found to be tremendously effective in reducing motion sickness and, for pregnant women, morning sickness. Furthermore, ginger is also efficient in reducing chronic pain by affecting certain hormones that produce inflammation. And simply sipping ginger tea can help you fight upset stomach.
