They gained more weight than people drinking the soda with sugar? What soda in the USA is made with sugar? It’s not sugar, it’s High Fructose Corn Syrup – another excitotoxin.

It’s not the artificial sweetner’s fault if people who are trying to lose weight simply cannot because they lack self-discipline when it comes to abstaining from the consumption of sweets. Know your body and consume in moderation!

If you’re ignorant enough to drink an artificially sweetened drink along with eating a huge slice of cake and thinking that you will not gain weight because the two cancel each other out, you’re delusional and need to be prepared to suffer the consequences.

aspartame ( a sweetner in diet drinks, candy, medicine, ect) forms cancer, diabetes, and even forms holes in your brain, and thats not even a fourth of the negative side effects.

I thought I was eating healthy. I really didn’t each that much food in terms of volume or calories each day. I usually ate a couple of bananas a day, dried fruit snacks, a good cereal, 3-4 cups of skim milk a day, etc. I was taking in at least 200g a day of sugar!! No wonder I couldn’t lose weight. I have almost knocked out all sugar and carbs from my diet. In 14 days I have lost 11 lbs & 2 in from my waist. Oh, I was also drinking 4-5 cans of diet Coke each day. That’s gone now too.

    @marlene554

A lot of it is about the sweeteners that are used, such as aspartame and sucralose. They are foreign to your body and either gets stored in your organs as toxicity or gets trapped in your fat cells, to be released into your body when you lose weight =P

and the reason diet soda doesn’t really help you lose weight is, even though it has no sugar or calories, the chemicals make you crave bad food and eat more of it when you get it, just like the mice.

I used to add “sweet-n-low” to my black tea – but only 1/3 a sachet per cup, not to kill tea’s taste.
How often can you see people in coffee bars adding 2-5 splendas per cup of coffee, thinking “spenda is safe for you”…
People are so addicted to sugar, then when they become diabetic, or on the verge of it, they want to achieve that same sweetness of sugar they used to eat.
How many sachet of equal (aspartame) are there in a bottle/can of Coke?

How about common sense for a change. There are 0 calories in diet soda, you can not gain fat if you have no calories to convert.

I wanna know something. While I’ve seen enough evidence to prove that diet coke can be very bad for you. But what about unsweetened stuff at all? The only fizzy drink I drink on any real basis is club soda, which is technically just carbonated water. Does it have any effect at all?

I bought some muffins a year ago that had aspartame (used in all artificial sweeteners) in it instead of sugar, I got a huge headache the lasted 5 hours from eating that.
So I did research, found out aspartame is basically a toxin, there’s a documentary somewhere that shows how aspartame in diet drinks and gum’s destroyed many peoples lives.

I have a question about sugar. which is more healthful to take, Refined sugar or Brown sugar and why?

  24. Pvtjamesryan2 says:

    This comparison is nonsense.

I’ve consumed diet drinks and I’ve never felt any ridiculous urge to consume anything with sugar. This has no information to show that artificial sweeteners are dangerous.

The fact is that artificial sweeteners are not natural. Diet soda are okay in moderation. Say 1 or 2 diet drinks a week. That’s acceptable. Caffeine is much more dangerous in my opinion, because of what it does to the cells of the body. Causing blood vessels to unnaturally expand.

You are right, most people don’t believe me about the sugar impulse!!! A good example is my family. I was overweight at one point, but nobody in my family is except for my unlce and his wife because all they drink is diet soda. My uncle compulsivley eats Maple Bars (a doughnut) and doughnuts and cakes for no reason in mass quantities. I drink diet soda but it’s rare. Watching this video i was drinking a diet pepsi. lol ironic eh? But anyways, truth be told, our mentality is our own choice.
