They took them off the market when the all-knowing all-caring government banned them. I have not been able to find anything but the ephedra-free kind since. Even though ephedra is legal again, I think Stacker hasn’t bothered to put them back out yet, but I don’t know for sure. Pure speculation on my part. If you do find them, let me know where.

Originally, a “diet” was what you ate period, no matter what it was. It simply was used to define eating habits.

Now, it is more associated with “Dieting” which means to change a diet to better suit ones needs.

So, techinically someone saying “I’m on a diet.” Is just being redundant.

You are always on a diet, they just happen to be dieting.

But people attaching it to all of their crackpot “weight loss” plans have caused the meaning associated with the word to change.

Still, none of them really work since they basically starve the body of essential nutrients to achieve the goal of wieght loss. This should not be considered a diet since it is not providing the body what it needs.

When I hear the word “Diet” I just take that as whatever regime of eating one does daily. When I think of “Dieting” I think of someone trying to lose weight by altering their daily diet (eating practices), but reduce the amount of fat and the volume of food they are putting into their bodies. Anyway, no I don’t think the use of the word “Diet”, used in context, immediately makes people today think of weight loss. Great question.
