How to improve sexual health

Do you know the most important factor in good sexual health? It’s your mind. Studies involving men and women have shown that it is the mind that determines sexual performance and drive more than anything else. Men and women were given a placebo and told that it would increase their libido and performance; the majority stated that they saw a significant increase in those areas which show us that it is the mind more than a pill that is responsible for the change.

There are also a number of foods that are said to directly affect sexual performance due to their aphrodisiac influence. These foods include ginseng, bananas, figs, asparagus, eels, oysters, and rhino horn which supposedly increases sexual appetite.

As men age, most start suffering a decrease in sex drive. This isn’t as normal as you’d think, men still usually feel as much sexual desire as they did in their middle age. There’s more to this then simply just getting older.

Mental And Emotional Fitness Needs Exercise Too

Often when we heard the word ‘fitness’ we tend to think of just the physical aspects of it but a person’s overall health status is not just linked to the physical fitness of our bodies. It is also linked to our mental and emotional health and fitness as well. These three are all equally important and proper exercise can improve and sustain all three areas.

Mental and emotional health is just as important as the highest degree of physical fitness one can achieve as one without the other is a bit like a stool with only three legs. It will tip over. Many people are plagued by negative emotions which can hold them back from achieving their full potential in life.

Proper exercise can act as a counterweight and dissipate those negative emotions before they can become life altering. Using Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) To Reduce Stress

As we all know, unless we’ve buried our heads like ostriches, we live in a world that is seemingly comprised of stress and more of same.

In fact, many of us are so used to the stress, that when we find ourselves in nature, in a calming situation, we don’t know what to do, our ever-present companion – stress – has taken a sabbatical, and we feel as if something is amiss. But you can learn a way to take that sabbatical, take that vacation, right where you are. Here are a few facts about using the Emotional Freedom Techniques EFT to reduce stress.

What Is EFT? Before we get into the means to use EFT to reduce stress, let’s talk about what it is first. The emotional freedom technique is based upon ancient healing practices, including acupuncture and acupressure along key ley or meridian lines in the body, applied with thoroughly modern methods.

But instead of applying pressure or sticking needles at key points along these ley lines, you tap on them instead, while using key phrases to help release negative emotions and then you do a positive round to instill positive and healing emotions into your body.

Just like Chinese medicine operates on principles to remove energy blockages within the body, EFT operates on this same principle. The idea is that if you are experiencing stress, emotional problems, disease, or dis-ease with or with(in) your body or life in any fashion, it is because somehow, somewhere along the way, you developed a blockage. It’s as if your thought and emotions become crystallized within, settling in to cause you pain.

If you were a trigger point massage therapist, you’d know where these trigger points most likely hide within your body, causing referred pain in other areas. Energy blockages operate the same way. For instance, negative parental interactions at early ages can lead to money and relationship problems.

But these can be easily released by using EFT.

Exactly How Does EFT Work? Depending on the EFT practitioner you are working with, will determine what key points and ley lines you tap along, but the underlying premise is the same.

There are several different variations, and variations of the variations, but the basic idea starts with tapping on the karate chop place on your hand (it doesn’t matter right or left – some EFT practitioners practice both!), moving to a place between your eyebrows (the third eye region), to the side of the eyebrow, underneath the eye, on the upper lip underneath the nose, below the mouth in the ridge between the lower lip and chin, between the collar bone area, underneath the arm, and then the crown of the head.

Some prefer to tap under the breast after the collarbone and before the underarm tapping. There are those who also start with tapping the sore spot to the right or left of the collarbone. There are more convoluted versions, and it really doesn’t matter which one you use, as long as it works for you!

Start with a Set-up Phrase

The tapping sequence would go something like this:

  • “The Setup: While continuously tapping the Karate Chop point (or the sore spot), repeat this affirmation three times: Even though I have this ____ (fear, pain, issue, etc.), I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
  • The Sequence: Tap between 5 and 10 times on each of the following energy points while repeating the Reminder Phrase at each point:
  • Crown: Even though I have (this issue), I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
  • Eyebrow: Even though I have (this issue), I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
  • Side of eye: Even though I have (this issue), I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
  • Under eye: Even though I have (this issue), I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
  • Under nose: Even though I have (this issue), I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
  • Chin: Even though I have (this issue), I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
  • Collarbone: Even though I have (this issue), I deeply and completely love and accept myself
  • Under arm: Even though I have (this issue), I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
  • Take a deep cleansing breath.”

The idea is to check in with your body, and see if there is any, if at all, remaining feelings of discomfort or dis-ease, then rate that on a scale of 0-10. You must repeat this process until you experience a sense of relief. The ideal is to bring the discomfort to a zero.

In alternating rounds, you can replace the negative statements about the issue with positive ones or “affirmations” as it were. EFT tapping is done with two fingers, though I have known some to use the flat face of their palm. You can tap on either side of the body, with either hand. For the collar-bone area, find the place where your collar bones almost meet at the top of your chest, and just below that, tap that area lightly with a fist.

The great thing about EFT tapping is that you don’t even have to know all the details of your problem, you can address the ill at ease feelings you have – and oftentimes just tapping through those will release the problem.

It sounds silly doesn’t it? But I’ve known folks to work through some tremendous issues with these simple procedures and as for me; I use it all the time.

Meridian Energy and Eft Tapping – An Energy Tool to Obtain Emotional Freedom and Healing

Working with energy? How does one go about doing that? To start off, you approach working with energy as if you were a child, playing. You leave your opinions at the door, and allow yourself to be open to all possibilities. When you’re in an open state, like a child, anything is possible. Our minds have long told us what is real and what is not, but where the mind cannot go, the imagination can — and that’s exactly how to work with meridian energy in the body and use energy tools like EFT tapping to obtain emotional freedom and healing.

It is Not Poppycock!
The problem that most of us face is that we’re so filled up with beliefs about this and that and ideas of how things are supposed to work. We’ve entered the quantum age and most people aren’t even aware of it. I am old enough to remember watching Star Trek when it first came out on TV. It was so cool, Captain Kirk, Spock and the crew, talking with their little communication devices, flipping them open and just speaking!

And now just a mere 30 some years later we are living with things that were once science fiction, only now they call them cell phones. Are you aware that the cell phone is actually DESIGNED from the Star Trek Communicators? In fact — many things that were once a part of science fiction (starting in the 40′s with Robert Heinlein and crew) are very much a part of science fact.

This applies to everything. Absolutely everything

Energy Permeates All Things
It is all things — and it is neither good or bad, it just is. So as we mature in life, as we age, we have long forgotten the dreams of childhood and took on the beliefs of our caretakers, those we trusted and loved, and implanted those beliefs in our “Meridian Energy Systems” — our bodies. To get that programming out of there, at least the stuff that no longer serves us, requires different thinking than what put it there in the first place.

Emotional Freedom Technique
EFT tapping involves tapping on key meridian lines within the body, along the same principles as acupuncture works (which is also an energy releasing system) as you say key emotional phrases, first a round of negative phrases and emotions about the topic and then a round of positive emotions and words about the topic.

There are reported cases of folks receiving healing from incredible physical and emotional problems from this simple thing involving tapping on key points in the body.

And if issues come up again, tapping them away works. Many might think that working with these kinds of energy tools is some kind of new age woo hoo stuff, but if you think about it — the Chinese have been using many of these “energy” techniques for well over 6,000 years. In China you pay the doctor to keep you well, and that involves acupuncture, feng shui, the eating of weird stuff that is all natural, QiGong, martial arts training and a whole host of things that are slowly making their way into western traditions.

You may laugh if you want, but any martial artist knows that “energy flows where attention goes,” and if tapping on my body while saying phrases can save me a costly medical bill or heal a broken heart, well then, I’m in.

Let’s Face It
There’s still so much that we don’t know about our Universe and an honest medical doctor will tell you that he had nothing whatsoever to do with healing his patient. The patient heals himself — always. Sure a doctor is great to have around in any kind of emergency and for those dis-eases we are incapable of dealing with. But energy tools go to the root cause of the problem, they don’t treat the symptoms like so much of our western medicine does.

My mother, god love her, at 82 is on so many medications its unbelievable — and now she has to take them. Some of them are so bad that the contradictions they cause in her are amazing. She takes 11 prescriptions, some of which are to offset the negative effects of the others! How crazy is that?

You’ve seen the commercials, oftentimes the cure is worse than the illness. It takes almost another whole 15 seconds with the voice-over speaking at lightning speed to let you know all the things that can go wrong if you take such and such medication.

For now, I’ll stick with EFT and my other energy tools.
