As every second passes by, the world is becoming more and more health conscious and diet programs are springing out like waves, in other words, people nowadays are getting more motivated to the concept of being healthy, looking good, and being attractive. One diet program the catches every dieters eyes is the Fat Loss 4 Idiots. Some people may have misjudged this program as a scam. But after reading a couple of Fat Loss for Idiots review, you’ll be surprised how people react positively from the effectiveness of this program. Moreover this program provides a money back guarantee which makes it more reliable.

The Fat Loss for Idiots program is a simple diet program that is based on the science of Calorie Shifting. It uses a process of consuming different types of calories which will have different effects on to body on a certain time of a day. This process is based on the burning of calories. The dieter will be subjected to different types of food a day having the body adapt to the calorie burning of a specific type. This type of diet is effective in manipulating the hormones which will result in optimal burning of fat. It does not only help the body improve its fat burning capabilities, but it also helps the body distribute the appropriate energy levels throughout the day.

Fat Loss for Idiot uses a web-based menu that automatically generates the best menu for the dieter that is according to his or her dietary needs. The program believes that choosing the right foods should be the main concern for people who are motivated in loosing weight. After you input your data regarding your diet information, the program will then automatically generate a meal of three times a day and will give you an option of free days where you can eat whatever you like but it should be in moderation. Here are some examples of menus which are taken from the Fat Loss 4 Idiots’ database:

Day 1: The first meal is flavored oat followed by a salad of tuna, and for the third meal the user can go for a sandwich and take scramble eggs for the last meal.

Day 2: The user can start the day with a milk shake of banana and have a chicken for lunch. In the evening a dish of mixed vegetables and eggs would be an appropriate meal, and then take in cottage cheese for the last meal.

Day 3: For breakfast, chicken can be taken and lunch is fruit salad. Fish fillet can be taken afterwards and if interested the user can take in cottage cheese for his last meal.

Good news for vegetarians, this type of diet program allows you to choose between a Vegetarian Plan of diet and a Regular Plan of diet. One can go for an option whichever is comfortable for the person.

The Fat Loss for Idiots review has already proven that this diet program is effective and is definitely not a scam; it has been producing positive results where a lot of people have benefited from it since its discovery in 2005. So if you are serious and interested about losing weight without having to starving yourself, then this Fat Loss 4 Idiots Dietary Program is perfect for you.

The Diary of an Anxiety Attack Patient

November 18th, 2011  |  Published in Sexual Health

Anxity attacks are to be taken very seriously. These can harm a person as they range from mild attacks to very severe one. People who are worried, perfectionist, socially avoidant or who encountered some or the other form of child abuse are most likely to suffer from panic attacks. to some of them, it might be hereditary problem. A normal person can’t even imagine being trapped inside a box for an unspecified duration and no clear sign of exit. This is just an example, the problem is 10 times severe in case of a panic disorder.

Anxiety attacks conquer the mind and the thought process of the person and fill his senses with uncontrollable fear. He feels as if he is going to die. These attacks have a major negative impact on the minor glands and tend to alter the functions of the major organs as well. As the functions of heart, eyes, stomach etc are affected, these react to the attacks and either increase the impulse or completely hide it. This condition should be treated with anxiety attack medicine.

In America itself, 40 million people suffer from anxiety disorder while only 4 million were treated with treatments for anxiety disorders. And amongst those, only 400,000 have received a proper treatment. Many researches brings the fact to the surface that people generally end with high drug inclination and drug abuse. 65% of North Americans take the prescription on a daily basis and 43% go for mood altering prescription regularly.

These attacks can provoke people to commit suicide. Jade Goody, a contestant to a reality TV show admitted that she tried to commit suicide while in a treatment for depression. When Goody was close to the breaking point, she was admitted to Priory clinic for treatments for anxiety disorder. There she refused to take off her coat. as reported by the mirror.co.uk she said that It was the worst thing in the world. I sat on the bed and I did not take my coat off because I thought, ‘If I take this off it means I’ve got to stay here’. So I had it on the whole time. I was on suicide watch because that’s how bad I was. “I can’t speak for everybody – but I just think there are so many people out there who are hungry to live and want a life. I just think that it’s a very selfish thing to do.” The fact that anxiety disorders patients have encountered some or the other from of a child abuse comes true in this case. We found her saying “I don’t hate my mum for beating me. I understand that she was frustrated and took it out on me.”

Cognitive Behavior theory, s part of anxiety attack cure is a form of psychotherapy. This is based on the basic principle that abnormal thinking is a result of abnormal reaction and involves assessing the reason behind patient’s thinking. This therapy is inclined towards changing the abnormal behavior. Anxiety attack medicine such as benzodiazepine tablets help give the sufferer short term relief due to stress related anxieties.

These medications however shouldn’t be taken for prolonged periods as the patient might be at risk of addiction. Buspirone is another type of anxiety medication that can help relieve anxiety and this is commonly taken as it is not as addictive. Antidepressants are also taken to treat certain anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder, OCD, social phobia, and anxiety associated with depression. Apart from medicine, counseling and relaxation techniques are also used in the treatment process for both short term and long term solutions.

A Few Simple Steps to Building Muscle Fast

November 10th, 2011  |  Published in Sexual Health

There are a few basic steps to building muscle that are often overlooked even by people who have been working out for years.  These are simple steps to building muscle fast that can be done without drugs, supplements, or putting anything unnatural into your body.  All you need to do is remember them and take them to heart – and continue them for as long as you’re trying to put on muscle.

The first step is to commit to weight lifting three to four times per week.  You want to stimulate your muscles for maximum growth.  Putting stress (resistance) on your muscles results in them growing so that every time you repeat that stress, it gets easier for your body.  When you go home, you need to let your muscles heal through nutrition and rest.  Repeat this process, and your muscles grow.

The second step is to focus on 5 to 7 meals a day of a balance of carbohydrates, protein, and fat.  Your carbohydrates should equal about 45% of your intake, protein 35%, and fat should be the remaining 20%.  Over half those meals should be solid, whole food, and the rest can be liquid meal replacements.

The third step is to stretch.  You should aim to stretch at least half the amount you lift weights.  Stretching is a process that helps your body restore normal length to the tissue.  If you’re consistently training, your muscle tissues will shorten, putting you at higher risk for injury.  If you lift weights 4 hours per week, an additional 2 hours should be dedicated to stretching.

The last of these simple steps to building muscle fast is to avoid supplements that are newer – as in, those that haven’t been around for longer than 3 years.  This way, you’ll avoid being a guinea pig who suffers from the result of marketing hype in the latest fitness and bodybuilding magazines.  You should aim to include a multi-vitamin, fish oil capsules, powdered creatine and protein powder.  These will cover your basic health, strength, and muscle needs.

Not Just for Kids — the Surprising Health Issues of Midlife Women

June 10th, 2010  |  Published in Sexual Health

One of the advantages of reaching midlife is that we are finally finished with all those issues that make childhood and adolescence such a pain in the neck, such as needing set bedtimes as well as  regular dental and eye checkups; having to worry about using protection during sex and about cigarette smoking; getting all those shots to prevent diseases and wearing helmets to prevent sports injuries; needing to eat all our vegetables and avoid sugar as well as not missing gym class. What a relief to let these issues fade right along with our memories of tetherball on the school playground!

Not so fast. Would it surprise you to know that you still have to be aware of each and every one of the above so-called “child/adolescent” health issues?

For instance, what about set bedtimes? The obvious reason that we needed enforced, regular  bedtimes each night was so that we would get enough sleep. Being tired and sleepy the next day in school caused everything from lousy concentration to crabby moods. Now that we’re in midlife, many of us believe that sleep is no longer an issue. This is not the case at all. It’s still essential to our health and wellbeing. Recent studies have shown that not only do sleep disturbances often indicate a serious health problem, but that lack of sleep can actually cause health problems, such as weight gain. Polls have shown that nearly two thirds of adults over the age of sixty-five have sleep complaints, but that less than 15 per cent of them have been formally diagnosed with a sleep problem. Why? Because we don’t mention sleep problems to our health care providers. Our mothers were right — we still need to be concerned about our bedtimes.

Once we’ve gotten the glasses we need and all our baby teeth are gone, we no longer need to get regular eye and dental checkups as we did in our younger years, right? Again — no. Although our vision does remain stable from young adulthood until we need bifocals, there are common eye diseases that begin to occur in midlife, and that can lead to blindness if not diagnosed.  And even though we no longer have our baby teeth,  other dental issues take the forefront upon reaching midlife, such as gum inflammation which has been shown to be associated with diabetes and heart disease. So, continued regular dental and eye checks are as important as in our younger years.

And what about sex at midlife and beyond?  We’ve moved from groping and being groped in the backseat of the car to more sophisticated maneuvers in a comfortable bed, and finally, finally no longer have to worry about pregnancy. So we don’t need protection; or so many of us think. Although it’s true that once menopause arrives one can’t get pregnant (warning: make sure you have completed menopause before assuming this as diagnosing menopause can be tricky),  protection is still needed during sex because of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Yes, we can still get those, and in some cases are even more prone to becoming infected after menopause, even after a hysterectomy. And even though we’re past the childbearing years and our reproductive organs seem to have no further use, we still need regular pelvic exams and Pap smears. It is also important at that exam to discuss with our healthcare providers the need for testing for STIs; if there is a new partner or the worry that the current partner is not monogamous, this testing is a must.

STIs are not the only threat held over from our adolescent years; so is cigarette smoking. Many women in midlife think that there is no reason to stop smoking cigarettes at this age, since they wrongly assume that the damage is already done from all the prior years of smoking. This is not the case. No matter how many years one has smoked, stopping can prevent further damage to the heart, blood vessels, and lungs, and in some cases can reverse some of that damage.

Also relevant to the lungs is the fact that asthma can begin in midlife, where once it was thought to only begin in childhood.  The two major causes seem to be occupational exposure to substances that damage the lungs, and the recreational exposure to air pollution by adults who run predominantly outside. So, a new onset of shortness of breath at this age — even if it occurs only with exercise — does not necessarily mean heart disease; remember that we can develop asthma now.

Did you think you were finished with all those horrible shots you had to have in childhood and adolescence? Sorry, you’re not. There is a recommended immunization schedule for adults in midlife and beyond, just as there are for children. At certain ages over 50 and at certain intervals, you’ll need shots against the flu, certain types of pneumonia, tetanus, and in some instances, shingles and hepatitis.  Ask your primary care provider about these.

And did you pack away your helmet when you gave away your bike with training wheels? Probably ok to have done this since now you will need a bigger size helmet. But you do need a helmet. A recent report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission stated that sports-related injuries in the Baby Boomer population was on the rise, with over 1 million injuries in this age group in 1998 alone, most of the injuries being due to bicycling and basketball.  The same report said that the many head injuries associated with bicycling were probably due to the fact that Baby Boomers use helmets less than younger people do.

The fact that exercise and proper nutrition are as important in midlife and beyond as in childhood may not come as a surprise. Regular exercise at this age has been shown to increase longevity and wellbeing, postpone and possibly prevent dementia, strokes, heart disease, and diabetes, and aid in the treatment of depression. Important to know as well is that several different types of regular exercise are recommended at this age, including aerobic (cardio) exercise, weight-bearing exercise or strength training, and exercises to improve balance and flexibility.

What we eat as we get older is every bit as important as it was in our younger years. One particular healthy way of eating, the Mediterranean diet, has been shown to stave off dementia, prevent heart disease and diabetes, maintain a healthy cholesterol level, and improve longevity. One study showed that this diet even improved sexual function in certain women! This diet is exactly as expected given its name: lots of natural whole foods, like vegetables, fruits, and nuts, lots of fish and olive oil, moderate amounts of wine, and limited amounts of foods containing refined sugar. Controlling the portions of the foods we eat is even more important at this age. Our metabolic rate decreases with age, making it easier to gain weight while eating the same amounts of food as in our younger years.

So, as you are rummaging through your mother’s attic looking at your old dolls, baseball bat and Ouija Board, and breathing a sigh of relief that you no longer have to worry about being picked for a baseball team or that your best friend copied your paper doll’s dress, don’t get lulled into complacency about your health. Although you once may have thought that taking care of yourself  health-wise would get easier as you get older, you know now that that’s not true. Make your appointments for regular checkups, get more than 5 hours of sleep a night, use protection when having sex, particularly with a new partner, stop smoking no matter how old you are, get the recommended immunizations, be careful and wear your helmet and seatbelts, and exercise regularly and eat well. Your mother’s recommendations from your childhood continue to apply!

Diet and Your Orgasm

May 26th, 2010  |  Published in Sexual Health

Copyright (c) 2008 Stephen Lau

Sex is an important aspect of life. Sex is a complex matter: it involves many of your body organs in order to produce the desire that culminates in the sexual act that produces the sensations of sex and orgasm.

Diet plays a pivotal role in your sex and orgasm. First and foremost, you must be healthy in order to perform (in the case of men) the very sexual act, and to enjoy sex (orgasm in the case of women).

Orgasm or the enjoyment of sex is based on the sensation of pleasure, which is preceded by the enhancement of anticipation and desire. Yes, it is all in the mind. But the body affects the mind as well, and accordingly your diet has an overall impact on your sex life.

According to research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), fish oil not only improves your cardiovascular health but also reduces depression and aggression. In other words, fish oil elevates the dopamine levels in the brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter of the sensation of pleasure. Dopamine holds the key to female sexual pleasure or orgasm. In addition, male erection is contingent on a healthy heart to send sufficient blood to the male organ to produce the desired erection necessary to accomplish the sexual act.

Saturated and monounsaturated fats (from meat, poultry, and dairy products) also enhance the dopamine in your body. Therefore, a fat-free diet may help you lose not only your weight but also your sexual desire. Fish oil is a safe, healthy, and non-addictive way to effectively elevate the dopamine levels in your body to give you the desire, the performance, and the orgasm in sex. Trans fats (synthetic fats manufactured from other fats) in junk food and commercial basked goods will negate the effect of the fish oil you consume.

In addition to dopamine, serotonin is another neurotransmitter responsible for better sex in that it improves your overall mood and relieves stress that may result in performance anxiety in men and prevent women from reaching an orgasm.

That said, too much serotonin may not be good. Depressed individuals are often prescribed antidepressants to artificially raise their serotonin levels, resulting in lower libido and orgasmic capability. Remember, anything that produces a high is generally followed by a low – which could be damaging to sex. Therefore, avoid caffeine in tea, coffee, sodas, and chocolate. Even a diet of carbohydrates with no protein may spike the serotonin level, upsetting the balance. The key is to maintain a balanced serotonin level in your body for maximum enjoyment of sex.

The American culture is affected by the billion-dollar soy industry: you find soy in everything – from tofu, soy milk, to snack bars. Protein is important to your diet and your sexual health, but it need not come from soy alone. Soy may be good for menopausal women, but too much soy may adversely affect your testosterone levels, and testosterone governs sexual desire.

Changing the way you eat, and eating right will invigorate your sex life. Eat more fish – not the farm-raised ones. If you plan to take the fish oil supplement, get the “fish oil” rather than the fish oil with a particular fish, such as “salmon fish oil” or “cod liver oil.” A word of warning, overdosing on fish oil can lead to a risk of hemorrhage due to the blood-thinning properties of fish oil, so be careful. A balanced diet makes you sexually healthy.

How to improve sexual health

May 23rd, 2010  |  Published in Men's Health

Do you know the most important factor in good sexual health? It’s your mind. Studies involving men and women have shown that it is the mind that determines sexual performance and drive more than anything else. Men and women were given a placebo and told that it would increase their libido and performance; the majority stated that they saw a significant increase in those areas which show us that it is the mind more than a pill that is responsible for the change.

There are also a number of foods that are said to directly affect sexual performance due to their aphrodisiac influence. These foods include ginseng, bananas, figs, asparagus, eels, oysters, and rhino horn which supposedly increases sexual appetite.

Male Sexual Health

When looking at male sexual health it is not just a question of taking a few supplements and sex drive recovers.

You must see male sexual health in terms of overall body health, this means not just taking supplements, but eating foods to reduce stress first,

Let’s take foods first:

These foods will increase dopamine a chemical in the brain that will increase sex drive so eat them!

They are: Salmon, cottage cheese, steak and low fat yogurt

Salmon (and other oily fish such as mackerel and herring) are packed with Omega 3, which increases blood flow around the body and to the genitals and is vital for fighting impotence.

Nitric oxide insufficiency can stop the penis from becoming erect. A recent study showed an 80 percent improvement in the erectile function of men who took 2.8 grams of argentine a day for two weeks.

Gingko Bilbao

It enhances blood flow and functions as an anti-oxidant in the body and is renowned as a great all round supplement which has been known for centuries to increase sexual desire.

Ginseng

Korean Ginseng has been used in China as a sexual balancer and revitalizing tonic for thousands of years.

It is stimulating and restorative and helps improve physical and mental energy, stamina, strength and alertness as an adaptogen, it also helps you to combat physical, emotional stress and fatigue.

Improve your Sexual Health

Have you been having problems about your sex life and could not even begin to understand why your partner is no longer satisfied with you? If you are having troubles with your sex life and are very unhappy about it, then do not just mop around think that your whole life is going down the drain. Do something about it.

You don’t really have to feel self conscious about it. There are so many people all over the country who share the same problems as you and the doctor you are talking to may have encountered the same types of problems time and again that your case is really not some kind of a novelty. Women’s Health::Can Omega3 Fish Oil Boost Women’s Health?

April 3rd, 2010  |  Published in Women's Health

Omega3 fish oil fatty acid supplements may boost women’s health.  Fish oil has been shown to be beneficial for many health conditions. PMS, menopausal symptoms, hormonal imbalances, cervical cancer and breast cancer may benefit.

A number of authorities have recently recommended increased intake of omega-3 fatty acids by the general population.  Because of this, we are now seeing more products (eggs, yogurt, milk, margarine, etc) that are fortified with omega3s.  The question is, how much omega3s are actually in these products and what is the omega6 to omega3 ratio.  The individual’s goal should be to increase omega3 consumption while reducing omega6.  Since most of the fortified foods contain both, they are not likely to be beneficial.

When it comes to men’s and women’s health, regular dietary intake of fatty fish like salmon is probably a good idea, as long as it comes from the Pacific Ocean.  The Atlantic Ocean is heavily polluted.  Fish from the Atlantic contain high levels of mercury and PCBs.

Fish Oil – Best Source of Omega3/DHA

The better fish oil supplements are molecularly distilled to remove mercury and other contaminants.  Eating a little fish sometimes is okay.  But, the best way to insure that you get enough omega-3 fatty acids every day is to take a molecularly distilled supplement.

DHA is Very Important

Some manufacturers suggest that flax seed oil is better than fish oil.  But flax seed contains only ALA.  The omega-3 fatty acids that are most important to our health are DHA and EPA.  The body can convert ALA to DHA or EPA.  But, researchers have shown that ALA supplements do not increase circulating levels of DHA.  It is DHA that is most beneficial to women’s health issues, such as PMS and the depression that may accompany menopause.

Low levels of DHA are known to accompany depression and have been found in women suffering from moderate to severe PMS.  Fish oil is the best and most reliable source of DHA, but you will need to read the label to be sure.  Many products contain more EPA than DHA; it should be just the opposite.

Fish Oil Benefits Health Conditions

Omega-3 fatty acids have natural anti-inflammatory activity that helps relieve cramping.  It’s good for the joints and the heart, painful joints often accompany menopause.  Heart disease is more common in postmenopausal women.

Breast cancer is one of the women’s health issues that are most worrisome, particularly in women with a family history of the disease.  Fish oil may reduce the risk of breast and cervical cancer.  Several studies report that women with these types of cancer have low circulating levels of omega-3 fatty acids.

In addition, we now know that chronic inflammation plays a significant role in cancer cell production and tumor growth.  Researchers have been recommending increased intake of natural anti-inflammatories for several years, but not everyone in the mainstream medical community has paid attention to that advice.

Most people don’t want to give up their regular diets in order to reduce their risk of chronic and life threatening diseases.  But, taking a good dietary supplement is something that practically anyone is willing to do.

In summary: Consume more DHA than EPA.  Take in more omega3 than omega6.  Omega6 comes from cooking oils.  Cut down on frying food.  Fish oil is the best source of Omega3/DHA.  So, take a good fish oil supplement.  It’s good for women’s health and for men’s. Why You Should Take Fish Oil Supplements

November 14th, 2009  |  Published in Sexual Health

The amount of advice out there on diet, exercise, and other lifestyle habits is staggering. You could never sort through all of that information, much less try to make sense of it. In addition to different diet plans and exercise programs, a lot of places like to tout supplements or special vitamins that will also help boost your health. The problem is, a lot of these are scams or not as helpful as they claim. So, when you heard about fish oil, you probably had already made up your mind that it was just another trick. However, if you could take any one supplement, it is the one to take. If you want to find out why you should take this oil supplements, read on.

Your overall health requires a lot to be optimal. First of all, you need to have a balanced diet consisting of as many whole foods as possible. That means you should try to have whole grains, healthy lean meats, nuts, low-fat dairy, green vegetables, and fruits, and try to eliminate the junk food, including candy, processed foods and microwaveable dinners. While everyone’s needs vary somewhat, people in general need certain macronutrients to function properly. This is why even vegans have to have some form of protein supplementation to be healthy.

In addition to a healthy diet, people also need to have a reasonable amount of exercise. If you sit at a desk all day for your job, you are not going to be as healthy as you should be. Having moderate exercise even a few times per week can make a big difference. If you can do some cardiovascular exercises like jogging, biking, or swimming, along with some resistance training, you will enjoy a greater overall health.

It’s important to also get plenty of sleep and minimize your stress whenever possible. If you do all of these things, you will probably be pretty healthy, but it’s possible that you’re still missing out on some important nutrients, especially Omega-3 essential fatty acids. That’s where fish oil supplementation comes in. Omega-3 essential fatty acids (EPA and DHA) provide a number of benefits to people, and most people are currently deficient in Omega-3 essential fatty acids because of the lack of fish in their diet.

If you have any questions about what a good diet or exercise program for you is, it would be a good idea to consult your doctor, physician, nutritionist, or dietician. As for why you should take fish oil supplements, they supply your body with a number of things that you won’t get anywhere else. From DHA from improved functioning of your brain to anti-inflammatory properties that help prevent chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease, and diabetes, it is an instrumental part of your good health and vitality.

Hopefully you are better aware of why you should take fish oil supplements now, but don’t forget to make sure that any fish oil you get is pharmaceutical-grade. This means they cut out all the toxins and just left behind the essential fatty acids you need.
