Putting on Weight with Hypnotherapy

November 25th, 2011  |  Published in Sexual Health

Being underweight can be a real challenge for those who struggle to gain weight but just can’t seem to do so.

In modern society, with so many suffering from obesity and overweight, precious little attention is given to those who have the opposite problem. Yet being and feeling underweight and skinny can negatively impact not only on the individual’s health, but also on their self esteem and confidence.

Hard gainers very often believe that it’s their metabolism that’s too speedy and that they simply burn up everything they eat or that they just don’t manage to digest and absorb everything.

But — with the exception of certain underlying medical conditions — this is just not the case.

The simple reason why a person has difficulty in gaining weight is because they are consuming too few calories in order to do so. ‘Hard gainers’ simply eat less than they need in order to increase weight.

Often, those who constantly struggle with weight gain believe that they eat sufficient food. But this is just not so. After all, the belief that you eat a lot of food is not the same thing as actually eating sufficient food for you to gain weight.

The simple fact is that metabolism and genetics really have little to do with healthy weight gain. Yes, of course there are different body types and it’s the ectomorph that’s usually identified as the one most naturally skinny and thin. But there is no need for a person to be gifted genetically or to be really athletic in order to gain weight in a balanced and healthy way.

Of course, the ability to simply unwind and relax on a regular basis is crucial. The hard gainer really needs to slow things down and conserve energy.

What really matters when it comes to putting on weight are the psychological factors. This includes not only the psychological response and approach to food, eating and nutrition, but also the person’s own individual perception of their body and potential.

If the image held by the subconscious mind is that the person is thin and underweight no matter what, then it is certainly capable of ensuring that this remains the case.

It is the image that our own subconscious holds of ourself and of our own body image that truly determines our weight.

With the help of modern hypnotherapy techniques and strategies it is possible to reach deep inside the subconscious and alter the self image from that of a thin, underweight person to that of someone of normal and healthy weight.

Once the internalized body image has been adjusted in a positive way, then the subconscious mind does its very best to ensure that that internalized image becomes a reality.

If putting on weight is something you struggle with, then don’t despair.

With modern hypnotherapy techniques even the hardest gainer can gain weight, be healthy and feel really good about their body.

Hypnotherapy & Relaxation

One of the best ways to learn to relax is through hypnosis or hypnotherapy. Many people have a hard time relaxing on their own because most people live their lives being stimulated with constant noise around them (TV, radio, cell phones) that they become addicted to the noise and have a hard time quieting their mind and being in silence. Hypnosis is a guided visualization technique to deeply relax the body and can help train the client how to relax on their own through self-hypnosis. Through hypnosis you will learn how to quiet your mind and slow down or stop the mind chatter from your ego.

Once your mind and body has made the connection and learned how to relax and go into an altered state, it will be very easy to achieve this on your own without the hypnotherapist. This is really the beginning stages of learning how to meditate, going within and quieting the mind. Many studies have shown that your health and life improves through meditation and hypnosis. People are happier, handle life better, healthier and more connected to the flow of life, so life is just easier.

Usually in 3 sessions with a hypnotherapist, most people will have learned a deep state of relaxation and will be able to do self-hypnosis or meditation. The practitioner can make a tape for the client which can help deepen the state to make it easier until the client feels comfortable doing it on their own. People who can benefit the most from hypnosis would be anyone who is feeling lots of stress, who is constantly on the go, can’t sleep at night because of mind chatter or who is having health problems.

Hypnotherapy and Relaxation Exercises

Self hypnosis and meditation are relaxation techniques, which are very similar in many ways, both providing substantial health benefits by reducing stress. Some of these techniques are also used to relax the body and mind. Here are some techniques that readers can perform on their own to help reduce stress:

1. Always go to a quiet place, turn off the television, radio and get really comfortable; loosen any tight clothing.
2. Close your eyes, put your hands on your abdomen, take 3 slow deep breaths, counting one 1,000 two 1000, 3 1,000, breathing deeply into your abdomen through your nose without lifting your shoulders. When exhaling, let out a loud, deep ‘ahhh’.
3. Return to normal breathing, in and out of your nose, but continue breathing from your abdomen.
4. Roll your eyes up gently and focus the on the point between your eyes in the middle of your forehead
5. Imagine yourself in a super comfortable setting, such as a bubbling Jacuzzi or floating on top of a cloud. Imagine all the tenseness leaving your body and imagine yourself becoming as light as a feather. Imagining all the stresses leaving your body often aid in relaxation.
6. Another option is to imagine being at a peaceful and safe place. Now, imagine being there, using all your senses. For example, imagine being on a beach, it is a beautiful sunny day and you can feel the warmth of the sand underneath your feet. As you squish your toes into the sand, you hear the sound of the waves as they break at the shore. The more you imagine being there and using all your senses, the more you’re body will de-tense and relax.

Finding The Right Hypnotherapy Specialists

December 30th, 2009  |  Published in Sexual Health

Certain that the title brought you here to find more information about how you can find the right hypnotherapy specialists, it is important to understand that true hypnotherapy and hypnosis is not the voodoo or witchcraft that many Hollywood movies have painted it to be. Hypnosis has historically been the target of significant ridicule because it has been portrayed in movies on television and on the big screen as something that charlatans toy with to change your life as they see fit while you are under their spell.

When you have a thorough understanding that there are many hypnosis myths that are still in existence today and that these myths have no bearing on the real process of hypnotherapy, then you can proceed forward with finding the right specialist to help you take steps towards changing your life for the better. Some other myths that you may have heard include those that suggest hypnosis will only work on people who have a weak mind. This simply is not true. Hypnosis will work on anyone. Perhaps you’ve been told that hypnosis will give your specialist power to directly control your thoughts and actions. This is also completely false.

There are many more such myths that are still in circulation today but rather than give more focus on the negative attention on the myths, it is most important to understand that professionals like the Gold Coast Hypnotherapy Specialists are not some back parlor hex creators waiting to slip inside your head and control your thoughts. Quite the contrary, these specialists are trained medical professionals who have studied to show themselves approved.

So how does one find the right hypnotherapy specialist? It starts with understanding your preferences. There is no fool proof method we will submit here that purports to work for every person who is looking for a hypnotherapy specialist. Contrastingly, making the choice starts with how you do your homework. You can consult your phone directory but this is just a general listing. You can seek out the opinion of family friends or workplace associates but remember that their experiences are what shape their perceptions and advice to you.

This leaves your doctor or a similar colleague, if you know the latter, who can give you a recommendation based on their familiarity with the particularly hypnotherapy specialist. As a rule, you do not want to pick someone based on their reputation alone because there are more factors that will have an equally weighted level of importance, if not greater. These factors include personality, ideologies and rapport. There is no reason to expect success with a hypnotherapy specialist whom you do not trust.

One way to approach your search is to outline your expectations from the specialist then develop a checklist of questions to ask that help you to determine whether or not he or she is the right one for you. Don’t hesitate to shop around and to thoroughly evaluate each potential candidate. Remember that the success of your specialists rests in the power of the relationship you build and the ability to extend and receive trust both ways.

Let My Success Club help you dispel the hypnosis myths that have kept you from reaching your goals. My Success Club has many Gold Coast Hypnotherapy Specialists ready to help you change your life.
